1. for anything 2. for love 3. to return to rome

I was told that over 3,000 Euros a day were collected from the Trevi Fountain! This weekend I added to the pot. Hopefully my wishes come true and I'll be back in Rome again soon

first print

I never realized how tedious the processing and devloping of film was. Today I finally made my first print. I am so pleased with it! I can't wait to print more on Monday! I had to take a picture of it because I don't have access to a scanner yet but hopefully I'll be able to get in and scan all my negatives soon.

I'm off to Rome & Venice for the weekend. Look for posts on Sunday or Monday

day off

Cinque Terre
five colorful seaside villages with hiking
trails connecting one to the next

we woke up at 4:30
took the 6:10 train to La Spezia
took the 9:30 train to Riomaggiore
hiked from Riomaggiore to Manarola

to Corniglia(where we had lunch on a patio with the best views)

took the train to Vernazza

then hiked to Monterosso

at this point I received a phone call from a "taxi company" claiming they had my credit card number and would be there to pick me up in 30 minutes

I freaked out & called mom

of course she didn't answer

then the "taxi company" number called back...

it was LIZZIE AND STEPHEN
& they were in Monterosso!

what a wonderful day off
it could not have been any better

bragging

t-minus one week till eclipse
I've decided it's time to brag...

recognize him?

yep, Jasper(Jackson Rathbone)

I just spent the last 30 minutes with my roommate(Anna Rathbone), Jasper's cousin, looking at their holiday family pictures. How cool?

& she will probably kill me for posting this

Last night we all went to Acqua al 2 for dinner. Their specialty was BLUEBERRY steak. The results...a group of girls with blue teeth. A few of us ordered the pasta sampler. Every five minutes a new pasta dish was brought to the table. If you are ever in DC, San Diego, or even Florence and are looking for a great place to eat, I highly recommend it!

monday's top 5

1. Meeting my incredible professor, Cosimo Bargellini, also known as "Cosi." On the agenda for class tomorrow: Walk around with the class (6 girls) and take pictures. Why can't all my classes be like this?

Cosi's photography that I stumbled across on google

2. Making friends with locals in shops which led us to a "behind the scenes" tour of a family leather shop's factory.

3. Shopping Shopping Shopping. I came across some picture worthy stores. Kelly, the Pippi picture is for you.

4. Pastries from the Roberto Cavalli pastry shop. Yum
Yes, it tasted as good as it looks

5. Purchasing comfy walking sandals after seven solid hours of exploring Florence by foot.
